Clegg Impact Soil Tester

The new bluetooth Clegg Impact Tester is used to determine the likelihood of a sports field player getting a concussion on a sports turf area. It can be used on natural and artificial turf fields, as well as playgrounds and horse tracks. The principle behind the Clegg Impact Soil Tester is to obtain a measurement of the deceleration of a free falling mass (hammer) from a set height onto a surface to determine hardness. The impact of the hammer produces an electrical pulse, which is converted and displayed on wireless tablet (included) in units of gravities (G or Gmax). The readings are recorded in the app along with date, time and GPS coordinates. Readings can be emailed and shared with tablet or converted to an Excel spreadsheet. The 2.25 kg model 0 to 150 Gravities is mostly used for athletic fields as it has a +/-1 % or 1.5 g accuracy and is ideal for safety testing. The 0 to 150 Gravities 2.25 kg unit is also ideal for testing natural and artificial turf area and race tracks.
